How to Complete the First Builder Test in My Time at Portia
Before you can really dive into My Time at Portia’s open-ended wealth of content, you’ll need to complete the First Builder test to prove you’re capable of being a builder. For this My Time at Portia quest, you’ll need to craft yourself a simple axe and a pickaxe, so let’s run you through the process.
First off, you’ll need to get yourself the required crafting materials to complete the First Builder test in My Time at Portia. To make both of these, you’ll need 13 units of both wood and stone. Because you don’t actually have an axe or pickaxe in My Time at Portia yet (obviously), getting these materials might be a little harder than you may have initially thought. Rather than chopping down trees or breaking up rocks you see lying around the village, you’ll need to look for piles of smaller logs and stones that you can gather. We found there was a fair number of these just to the left of the entrance to Peach Plaza. You’ll see a grassy bank here and if you scour it for long enough, you should be able to find all 13 units of both stock and wood that you need.
Once you’ve got enough, head back to your workshop and look for the worktable outside to the right of the building. Press E (or A if you’re using an Xbox One controller) to interact with it and simply confirm that you want to make a simple axe and a pickaxe. Once this is done and they’re in your inventory, you’ll need to return to Presley to turn in the First Builder test. He can be found in the Commerce Guild where he was before. Doing this will turn in the first builder test and will then set you off on the second builder test, which requires you to build a stone furnace.
That’s all you need to know to complete the First Builder test in My Time at Portia. For more on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
