What the New Map Update Release Date Is for Fortnite Battle Royale

Update: It has now been confirmed that the New Map update will hit Fortnite Battle Royale on Thursday, Jan. 18.

Fortnite Battle Royale has really taken the world by storm, offering a last-man-standing battle royale experience completely free. If you’ve been keeping up with the latest developments of the game, you may have heard that there’s a pretty huge update on the way that’s going to fundamentally change the gameplay experience. The New Map Update adds a number of neat landmarks to check out on the western side of the map including the huge city of Tilted Towers and the eerily-named Haunted Hills. A number of other Quality of Life improvements are all coming as part of the New Map Update, too, but the main question most players have is exactly when the release date is.

Well, currently we know it’s coming sometime this week. Normally, any maintenance work has been done during the early Eastern Time hours on a Tuesday. However, at the time of writing, the New Map Update still hasn’t hit Fortnite Battle Royale.
