How to Get Razor Claw in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

Recommended Videos

Razor Claw in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is a useful item for increasing your Pokemon’s critical hit ratio or evolve the already cool-looking Sneasel into the more menacing Weavile. Unfortunately, finding the item is a bit hard.

First off, you should know that Jangmo-o, Hakamo-o, and Kommo-o are the only Pokemon that hold Razor Claws in the wild. You’ll either have to catch them or use Thief to nab the item from their grasp.

To find any one of these Pokemon, visit Vast Poni Canyon on Poni Island after completing all the trials. The chances for Jangmo-o and Hakamo-o to have the item are slim at only 5 percent, though final evolution Kommo-o’s odds of holding it are at 50 percent. Seeing as how Kommo-o is the pinnacle of the Jangmo-o line, its appearance is a bit more limited, so don’t hold your breath on seeing that one too often.

Rather than catching each Jangmo-o family member that you encounter, use a Butterfree that has the Compound Eyes ability and has learned the move Thief. You can catch these easily along Route 3 and Route 5. Have the Butterfree be the first party member of your team, make sure it’s leveled up sufficiently, and go to the Jangmo-o area specified above with no hold items on your butterfly Pokemon, as you’ll use Thief immediately to catch that Razor Claw you always wanted.

Keep fighting Jangmo-o and keep using Thief on them until you manage to get yourself the item. It won’t be easy, but it sure will be worth it.
