How to Play Draft Champions in Madden 18
In Madden 16, EA Sports introduced a popular new game mode called Draft Champions that emulated a fantasy football experience. Players got to pick their own teams from a pool of players of varying different skills including role players and NFL legends, and then take them into a tournament versus other players for prizes. We thought the mode was a welcome addition back when we reviewed it a few years ago, but over the last two years the feature has taken a bit of a back seat to Madden Ultimate Team.
While a mode very similar to Draft Champions exists within Madden 18, it is now been renamed MUT Draft and exists within the Madden Ultimate Team (MUT) game mode. To play it, you’ll need to first go through the MUT tutorial and set up your MUT team (even if you don’t plan on using it ever). Once you’re free to explore the game menu, you’ll be able to see the various online game modes available to you in “Play.” One of them is MUT Draft which is, again, functionally very similar to Draft Champions. The ranked mode is win or go home, single elimination, with some pretty hefty prizes if you’re able to win all four games in a row. Keep in mind that playing in ranked does require tickets to enter. You can get them by either purchasing them with coins or by using coins from in-game events, or points using real-life cash.
That does it for how to play Draft Champions AKA Mut Draft in Madden 18. If you’re participating, best of luck getting those four wins.
