Where to Find Phylakes (Defy Authority) in Assassin’s Creed Origins

Assassin’s Creed Origins brings the series back after a one year hiatus, and of course it comes packed with a brand new setting, which means a new achievement and trophy list. One of the trophies and achievements in the game is called “Defy Authority,” and it requires you to take down a powerful enemy known as a Phylake. As you play Assassin’s Creed Origins you might have a bit of trouble tracking Phylakes down, so we’ll help you figure it out. Be warned though, even when you do find one they won’t go down without one heck of a fight.

Phylakes can be found roaming Alexandria as you follow the main story of Assassin’s Creed Origins, just wander around a bit in Alexandria and you should be able to find one. Phylakes are high level, aggressive guards that will attack you without much provocation. On your minimap they’ll appear as a red devilish looking helmet. When a Phylake is nearby you’ll hear a very loud horn and a notice will pop up on your screen. If this happens the best thing to do is pull up the world map and check the icon for the Phylake, which will tell you which one it is and what their level is. This way you can decide if the Phylake is well beyond your level and you need to run, or if you can square up and take them on. Remember Phylakes are tough enemies so make sure you have Assassin’s Creed Origins’ combat mechanics down like countering, dodging, shield bashes, etc. Battle one, take him down, and you’ll have yet another achievement or trophy to add to your repertoire.
