Middle-earth Shadow of War: How to Open Cages

How to Open Cages in Shadow of War

Recommended Videos

Middle-earth: Shadow of War brings back all the beasts you knew and loved in the first one, and then some. There will be times in the story where you’ll need to open up some cages, but generally, it’s just plain fun to mess with orcs by unleashing some creatures on them. Ah, the joys of raining on their parade.

To open up some cages, all you need to do is deal damage to the doors. You can easily slash them open with your sword, or you can shoot them off with your bow. I found that, during the mission that needed me to release some drakes from their cages, the best tactic was shooting them free. But when it comes to caragors, it’s actually easier to use Talion’s sword. Once you release them, by the way, all bets are off. It will go ballistic. So, you know, try to get away or open them from a distance to begin with.

Once they’re loose, if you want to ride any of the animals, remember that you need to have the appropriate skill within Middle-earth: Shadow of War. If you already have it, you can easily mount them by hurting them until they’re broken and dominating them until they join your army.
