Is Middle-earth: Shadow of War Xbox One X Enhanced?

Recommended Videos

Monolith Productions’ Middle-earth: Shadow of War has finally arrived and players are busy building their orc armies and taking over the land of Mordor. And while we know that the game will run just fine on a standard Xbox One or Xbox One S when it releases next week, many fans may also be wondering whether it’ll be enhanced on the Xbox One X.

Well, we have some good news. When the latest addition to the Xbox family releases at the start of November, Middle-earth: Shadow of War will make use of all of that horsepower. In an interview with wccftech, Design Director Bob Roberts revealed that Shadow of War would run in a native 4K resolution on the Xbox One X. He did note, however, that the game won’t be running at 60 fps in order to “milk more graphics out of it and just make sure it always stays above 30 smoothly.”

With all of the beautiful views to be seen around Middle-earth (and some pretty grotesque ones, too), Shadow of War is sure to look spectacular when playing on the Xbox One X. On top of the native 4K resolution and 30 fps, you can also expect HDR compatibility with the game on both the Xbox One X and the Xbox One S.
