How to Get a Legendary Sword in Destiny 2

Recommended Videos

There are plenty of weapon types in Destiny 2, ranging from some returning ones like Auto Rifles and Swords, to brand new types like Tracer Rifles and Linear Fusion Rifles. All types have several levels of rarity, which can include legendary. One of the more powerful weapon types you can have is a legendary sword. Here’s how to get one.

For starters, if you got the deluxe or collector’s edition of Destiny 2, you will have received a code that nets you a legendary sword as soon as you beat the main story (you have to claim it from a vendor). If you didn’t get one of those versions, you’re not out of luck. You can actually earn one of these valuable weapons naturally through the game.

As you beat challenges such as Lost Sectors and Public Events, take on Adventures and other sidequests, or just mill about in the Crucible, you always have the chance at obtaining gear, sometimes even legendary gear. That means you have a chance to get a legendary sword at pretty much any time. It all comes down to a bit of luck.
