Outlast 2: How to Get Batteries

How to Get Batteries in Outlast 2

Recommended Videos

While exploring the dark, twisted world of Outlast 2 you’ll really have only one true friend to help you through the entire experience: your camera. It will brighten up dark rooms, help you track down enemies by sounds, keep all of your discoveries organized, and record the most twisted events. Unfortunately, it cannot run off of fear and wishes (which you’ll have in spades), but instead needs batteries to run. Electricity isn’t unlimited, so you’ll need to always keep batteries on hand unless you want to be plunged into an endless darkness.

Finding batteries is thankfully not overly difficult in Outlast 2, although you will sometimes have to venture into places you may have wanted to avoid. These glowing little sticks of power can be found on tables and desks, on the floor, in grass… just about anywhere really. You’ll just have to keep an eye out for their telltale white glow. To pick them up, simply walk up and press Square/X.

Once you have extra batteries, you can replace your used ones by pressing Triangle/Y at any time. We recommend waiting for a prompt to do so though, as changing a battery that still has power is a complete waste and there’s no way to get it back.
