Mass Effect: Andromeda Scanning Planets Guide

Scanning Planets in Mass Effect: Andromeda

Recommended Videos

Scanning planets in Mass Effect: Andromeda is pretty handy if you’re struggling to find some crafting materials. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t do a great job of explaining what you have to do. Don’t worry, though, we’ve got you covered.

There are essentially two parts to scanning planets in Mass Effect: Andromeda. First, you’ll need to scan for anomalies within a system. To do this, simply hold down the LT or L2 button while you move your cursor around the system. You should then notice a small arrow appear on the orange ring around your cursor, but only if there’s an anomaly present. Move your cursor in the direction the arrow is pointing until the game notifies you that you’ve found an anomaly.

With the first step of scanning planets out of the way, it’s now time to reap your reward. You’ll need to send probes to retrieve the goods, so press the RT or R2 button when your cursor is aimed at the anomaly planet. This will fire off a probe after a moment, your view will be zoomed in on the planet with the anomaly. Now all you need to do is press A or X to collect the loot. Make sure you’re scanning planets in systems multiple times in case there is more than one anomaly.

That’s all you need to know about scanning planets in Mass Effect: Andromeda. For more on Mass Effect: Andromeda, check out our wiki.
