As you discover more and more of the fascinating new Andromeda galaxy in Mass Effect Andromeda, you’ll always have the option to scan systems and planets to try and detect any anomalies. These aren’t anything you should be worried about finding. In fact, they’re normally pretty handy resources you’ll definitely want to venture out to find.

In order to detect anomalies in Mass Effect Andromeda, you must first find one of the systems that make up the galaxy and press X/ A to zoom in on it. With your view zoomed in on the system, press the L2/ LT button to begin scanning. If an anomaly is detected, your cursor will then have an orange arrow pointing in one direction around its edge. Now all you need to do is follow the direction of the arrow until your cursor uncovers the anomaly tucked away.

Now that you’ve found it, simply press R2/ RT to fire off a probe and pick up your rewards. It’s not overly difficult to detect anomalies in Mass Effect Andromeda once you know what you’re doing, so make sure to do it as often as you can as the rewards are well worth it.

That’s all you really need to know to detect anomalies on your space adventure. Be sure to check out our Mass Effect Andromeda wiki guide for more tips, tricks, and information on the game.
