How to Beat Glinthawks Easily – Horizon Zero Dawn
Glinthawks can be particularly pesky when you run into them in Horizon Zero Dawn, so we’ll walk you through how to beat Glinthawks easily. They may not be the most powerful of beasts, but these scavengers will travel in groups and use a combination of melee and ranged attacks to diminish your health bar quickly. They’re also pretty quick, so outrunning them can take some time. Fortunately, there’s a way you can deal with Glinthawks pretty quickly, allowing you to continue on your journey and earn some easy EXP in the process.
Glinthawks are first and foremost vulnerable to Fire. Their whole bodies will sustain heavy damage from a good few fire arrows, but you’ll want to target their Freeze Sac in particular. Not only will this prevent them from using their ranged Freeze attack, it’s also the largest and easiest weak point to hit. With each successful hit you land on Glinthawks, they’ll fall closer and closer to the ground. When one finally hits the ground, sprint over to it and land a critical hit by pressing R1 when the three stars in a circle symbol appears next to their health gauge.
With just a few fire arrows and a critical hit, Glinthawks will be left with very little health. A couple of your regular arrows to either its Beak or Freeze Sac will be enough to put it to rest.
