Chocobo – Final Fantasy XV
Chocobos are a Final Fantasy staple. They are the perfect option when it comes to running across wide open fields or exploring lush forests. Of course, as is always the case, you don’t just start the game with one. You have to unlock the ability to rent one of these fine birds in Final Fantasy XV and it requires a challenging hunt.
First, you’ll need to head to the Wiz Chocobo Post. You’ll be informed of its location when you head to meet Isis in the city. Prompto will beg to go see the farm before continuing the story, so do him a favor and head over there. Once there, you’ll meet the proprietor of the fine establishment and he’ll tell you that he unfortunately can’t give you a bird. It turns out that they’re being hunted by a very aggressive Behemoth named Deadeye. If you’re willing to hunt down the monstrous beast, talk to the man again (he serves as the location’s restaurant NPC) and accept the hunt titled “A Behemoth Undertaking.”
Once you kill Deadeye, head back to the Wiz Chocobo Post and turn the hunt in. He’ll be very happy and unlock all of the rental stands located around the world as well as give you a whistle to summon your ride. To rent one, walk up to any of the stands (one is located in the Post) and interact with it. You can rent one for up to seven days for 50 Gil per day.
