Friede’s Great Scythe – Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel

Frieda’s Great Scythe is one of the new weapons you can acquire in the Ashes of Ariandel DLC. To get the weapon, first you have to defeat Sister Friede, who is one of the two bosses available in the DLC. After doing so, you’ll get the Soul of Sister Friede, and you can obtain this new weapon by using Soul Transposition. As a refresher, you need to obtain the Transposing Kiln by defeating the Curse-Rotted Greatwood in the Undead Settlement, and then give the Kiln to Ludleth at Firelink Shrine, and he’ll craft the boss weapons for you.

A great scythe wielded by Sister Elfriede, with a curved blade thinly coated by Painted World frost that easily breaks the guard of shields.

In the painting, the scythe is a symbol of a long-lost home, possibly explaining Elfriede’s preference for it.

Skill: Elfriede’s Stance

Conjure a magic bladed support scythe into the left hand while the great scythe remains in the right, a stance derived from Elfried’s former swordmanship. Use normal attack to leap forward and swing twice, or strong attack to coat the earth with running frost.

The Scythe is very similar to the one wielded by Priscilla back in the Painted World of Ariamis in Dark Souls. Could they be related?
