The Rakuyo is one of the most coveted weapons in Bloodborne: The Old Hunters. You might recognize it as the terrifying dual blades wielded by Lady Maria. To get it, first you must have gained access to the Fishing Hamlet. From the Fishing Hamlet lamp, follow the path and make your way past the fish men. You’ll come to an open area with a well in the middle. That’s your target. There’s also a mage in front of the well, but you can easily dodge his spells by running and rolling. Get to the well and descend the ladder.
Now comes the hard part. You’ll have to face two giant fish ogres at the bottom of the well. The first one has an anchor and he’ll only go off to call the second fish ogre once you have him down to half health. Thankfully, the second ogre has no weapon, but he’s still a force to be reckoned with. This is an extremely tough fight as both ogres deal a lot of damage. I’d advise using the blockade in the center to create some distance when you need to heal.
Alternatively, you can also cheese the two fish ogres if you’ve unlocked the Lighthouse Hut lamp and the shortcut that takes you to Orphan of Kos. From the Lighthouse Hut, take the long elevator down and head towards the path where the two Winter Lanterns (the frenzy brain enemies) are. Be sure to have your Sedatives ready as you fight them. If you head to the left, you’ll find yourself atop a ledge overlooking the bottom of the well. You can use your Monocular to aim a Poison Knife at the fish ogre with the anchor. It’ll try to rush you at the ledge. As long as you keep your distance and only go in for safe hits, it’s possible to take down both fish ogres from the ledge without having to engage them in direct combat, though this will take much longer.
After you’ve beaten both fish ogres, examine one of their corpses for the Rakuyo.
“Hunter weapon wielded by Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower.
A trick sword originated in the same country as the Cainhurst Chikage, only this sword feeds not off blood, but instead demands great dexterity.
Lady Maria was fond of this aspect of the Rakuyo, as she frowned upon blood blades, despite being a distant relative of the queen.
One day, she abandoned her beloved Rakuyo, casting it into a dark well, when she could stomach it no longer.”
