Marvel Snap is a brand new digital card battler from Second Dinner, and it’s proving to be one of the freshest and most enjoyable card game experiences we’ve had on mobile in a long while. There are plenty of cards to collect, and the large pool of available cards can seem daunting at times. Here’s everything you need to know about how the card pools work in Marvel Snap, and how to get into the mythical land of Pool 3.
Marvel Snap Card Pools Explained
At the time of writing, there are a total of three card pools in Marvel Snap. Second Dinner has confirmed that two more pools will be added eventually, though there’s no set release date for that just yet. Your Collection Level will determine which card pool you’re in currently, and they’re divided according to the following CL bands:
- Pool 1: CL 1-214
- Pool 2: CL 222-474
- Pool 3: CL 486 and beyond (for now)
As you increase your Collection Level by upgrading cards with Boosters and Credits, you’ll unlock more cards at various CL tiers. It’s important to note that while all players will have the exact same cards by the time they reach the end of a pool, you will not unlock them in the same order.
For instance, one player might unlock Ebony Maw at the very start of Pool 2, while another player doesn’t see him till CL 470. This means that as players are progressing through the different pools, their experiences will be different as well as they unlock different cards at different points.
How to Increase Collection Level
The only way to increase your Collection Level in Marvel Snap is by upgrading your existing cards. To do this, you’ll need Boosters, which are obtained very naturally just by playing matches, and Credits, which you mostly get from doing daily missions. You can also purchase Credits with Gold, which serve as the premium currency in Marvel Snap. Gold can be obtained through CL rewards, or by purchasing with real money.
There are six rarity tiers for cards, and you’ll gain more Levels as the rarity goes up:
- Uncommon: 25 Credits, 1 CL
- Rare: 100 Credits, 2 CL
- Epic: 200 Credits, 4 CL
- Legendary: 300 Credits, 6 CL
- Ultra-Legendary: 400 Credits, 8 CL
- Infinity: 500 Credits, 10 CL
One final thing to note is that even if you’re looking to quickly bump up your CL by buying Gold, there’s a cap on that as well. You can only buy up to 2,250 Credits each day with Gold, and refresh your daily mission three times for a few more Credits. This means that it’s not possible to just whale out in a single day to unlock the entire card collection, and it’s still going to be a bit of a time commitment to complete the set.
So, in essence, just make sure to stay on top of your daily missions to get all the Credits you can get, and you’ll eventually break into Pool 3 to start getting the more interesting cards.
