How to Disable Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs in The Sims 4 for PC

This guide tells you how to disable expansion packs, game packs, and stuff packs in The Sims 4 without uninstalling them.
High School Years

I’ve been playing The Sims 4 since EA released it eight years ago, and I’ve snatched up nearly every expansion pack along the way. Now that the base game is free to play on all platforms, I wanted to launch TS4 without DLC to see what new Simmers are walking into without uninstalling everything. Here’s everything you need to know about how to disable all Sims 4 packs on PC for Origin and Steam.

How to Disable Sims 4 Packs in Origin

To disable all Sims 4 expansion packs, game packs, and stuff packs in Origin, start by opening the Origin client. Go to My Game Library and click on The Sims 4. Click the gear icon to open Settings, then click Game Properties.

Click on Advanced Launch Options. In the text box called Command Line Arguments, enter the following:

-disablepacks:EP01,EP02,EP03,EP04,EP05,EP06,EP07,EP08,EP09,EP10,EP11,EP12,GP01,GP02,GP03,GP04,GP05,GP06,GP07,GP08,GP09,GP10,GP11,GP12,SP01,SP02,SP03,SP04,SP05,SP06,SP07,SP08,SP09,SP10,SP11,SP12,SP13,SP14,SP15,SP16,SP17,SP18,SP20,SP21,SP22,SP23,SP24,SP25,SP26,SP28,SP29,SP30,SP31,SP32,SP33,SP34,SP35

When you next launch The Sims 4, it will run without any expansion packs, game packs, or stuff packs.

You can disable packs individually, too, but you’ll have to know exactly which pack numbers you want to disable. For example, EP01 is Get to Work, and SP16 is Tiny Living Stuff. Alternatively, you can use a tool like this one from James Turner to select which packs you want to disable and generate the corresponding command line argument to paste into Origin’s Advanced Launch Options.

How to Disable Sims 4 Packs in Steam

Disabling expansions, game packs, and other DLC is much easier if you have The Sims 4 installed via Steam. To disable packs in Steam, go to your Library. Right-click on The Sims 4 and select Properties. Click on DLC, and uncheck any packs you want to disable. To launch the game without any packs, uncheck everything but the base game.

When you next launch The Sims 4, it will only run the packs you left checked. So if you left Seasons and Laundry Day Stuff checked but un-checked everything else, TS4 will launch with only the base game and those two packs.

Now you can run your Sims 4 game without any expansion packs, game packs, or stuff packs, just like a brand new Simmer. For what it’s worth, the base game is a lot more comprehensive than it was in its early days, so everyone playing it for the first time is in for a real treat.
