How to play Expedition in Destiny 2

  1. Begin Expedition

To start the mission, simply select the helm from your destination board and the activity will be all the way to the left on the overhead view as shown above.

  2. Head to the drill site

Upon loading into the activity, head over to where indicator points. That is where you will defend the drill while it digs for your treasure.

  3. Defend the drill

The drilling sequence has begun. Waves of enemies will now begin to appear. Defeat them all before they get to your drill.

  4. Collect your treasure

At a certain point during your defense, treasure will begin to erupt from the drill sequence. They look like exotic engrams but unfortunately they don’t work the same. When the treasure begins to erupt from the drill, you will have 20 seconds to then pick up and throw them into a nearby holding unit. If not, the treasure will explode, and you will have to redo the process.

  5. Destroy the Jammer

At around 50% completion, a jammer will appear, halting your progress. Head over to where your indicator points to and destroy the jammer. After that, return to the drill site.

  6. Transport your treasure haul

After your treasure collection has reached 100%, it’s time to start transporting your haul. Head over to the Treasure haul unit and begin the moving process. You must remain in the blue ring near it, otherwise it will not move.

  7. Rinse and repeat

After reaching the next drill site, it’s now rinse and repeat. Defend your drill by defeating the waves of enemies appearing while also collecting and throwing your treasure into the haul unit. Do this until you reach 100% once more.

  8. Transportation…again

After reaching 100% again, it’s time to transport your haul once more. Stand in the blue ring around it and move it until it reaches the final site.

  9. Final Defense

At last, the final defense has begun. After reaching the transportation site, you now must defend your haul by defeating waves of enemies that appear. A boss will also appear at this time too. Defeat the boss and all the enemies until your haul has safely transported away, and you will have completed the activity.

  10. Collect your loot

It’s time to collect your spoils. Once your haul has transported away, a chest will appear offering you loot. If you have a treasure map, you can collect bonus loot by digging up the treasure in the green areas as shown in the image.
