Where to Find Minecraft Frogs

If you’re on the hunt for frogs in Minecraft, the best place to find them is in either a Swamp biome or a Mangrove Swamp biome.

Swamp biomes mostly consist of shallow ponds with discolored water brimming with lily pads, as well as discolored grass, and oak trees covered in vines. Meanwhile, Mangrove Swamps consist of huge trees with overgrown roots, as well as large ponds and Mud blocks.

Here, you’re likely to find three different types of frog: Temperate, Warm, and Cold.

What Are The Different Types of Frogs in Minecraft?

Essentially, the aforementioned three different types of frog are color variants and these colors are linked to the temperature of the biome that the frog is born in.

The Temperate frog is orange, while the Warm frog is grey, and lastly, the Cold frog is green.

Another way of creating the different color types of frogs in Minecraft is by breeding them.

How to Breed Frogs in Minecraft

In order to breed frogs in Minecraft, you’ll need some Small Slimes or Slime Balls. Much like feeding an Ocelot some fish, if you feed enough Small Slimes or Slime Balls to a frog, it’ll enter love mode and search for a partner.

Interestingly, however, once the frog has partnered up with another frog, it will soon become pregnant and then hop over to the nearest body of water it can find to lay frogspawn. From here, the frogspawn will soon hatch into tadpoles, which will in turn hatch into frogs.

The biome in which the frogs are born will affect the color of the frogs. For example, a cold biome will result in Cold frogs (green). Meanwhile, a warm biome will result in Warm frogs (grey).
