Can You Control Boom Boom in Mario Strikers Battle League

The simple answer to this question is essentially no. Nobody can cycle through the players on their team and choose to play the keeper position as Boom Boom. But of course, the full answer is a little bit more complicated than a simple no. It’s more like mostly no but sometimes yes.

When You Can’t Control Boom Boom

Most of the time while playing a match in Mario Strikers: Battle League, there’s no way to control Boom Boom. He’ll dive to make saves and run out to possess a loose ball if there’s nobody in the area.

When Boom Boom makes a save, you can run close to him and press the pass button (B) to make the keeper toss the ball towards the selected player. But this isn’t really considered controlling the keeper since they won’t pass the ball unless the player you’re controlling is close enough. If nobody is close enough, then Boom Boom will just clear the ball downfield.

When You Can Control Boom Boom

There is one situation where you can control Boom Boom in Mario Strikers: Battle League. When an opposing player gets off a Hyper Strike and it isn’t a perfect shot, Boom Boom will have the opportunity to make a save.

This quick time event requires player input for Boom Boom to stop the ball from going into the net. Unlike the pass, player input is required for Boom Boom to block the shot.

That’s all there is to know about the question can you control Boom Boom in Mario Strikers: Battle League?
