For Greater Blood Essence, you will need to eliminate more dangerous enemies, such as those that are level 20 or higher. Venture out of the Farbane Woods, and you will have a better shot of increasing your stockpile. Crafting is also possible, but only after defeating the level 46 boss, Tristan the Vampire Hunter, and will require 4 Unsullied Hearts or 200 Blood Essence.

The most valuable of them all, Primal Blood Essence is definitely hard to obtain.
