Developed by Smilegate RPG and published by Amazon Game Studios in English-speaking territories, Lost Ark is an MMOARPG that takes place in the fantastical world of Arkesia. Players are tasked with finding keys and clues that will lead them to the titular Ark, while fighting off bad guys who want to destroy the world along the way. There are also side activities to engage in, and you can spend your spare time doing things like mining and fishing if you’d like. Here’s how fishing works in Lost Ark.
Lost Ark Fishing Guide
First things first, fishing is one of the life skills you can level up in Lost Ark, but you’ll only gain access to it once you reach the Lakebar zone. The main story quest will take you to Lakebar at around the mid-20s in terms of levels, so don’t worry about missing it.
Once you’ve reached Lakebar and completed the story quests there, you can then purchase tools from the vendor and start equipping them to work on your life skills. The vendor in town sells a fishing pole as well, allowing you to start fishing for cooking ingredients.
Using the Fishing Pole
Once you’ve bought a fishing pole, press the I key to open your inventory, then right-click the pole to equip it. Do note that you can only do this once you’ve unlocked life skills; it’ll be unselectable before then.
Next, head to a fishing spot –these are indicated by the little fish icons on your map. Once standing next to a body of water, press the B key to access your tools, then cast your line into the water by clicking on it.
After a few seconds, you’ll see a fish nibble on the line, and once the bob goes underneath the surface of the water, reel it in by hitting right-click. And that’s all there is to it. The primary purpose of fishing in Lost Ark is to gather cooking ingredients that can be used to craft food items, which will in turn give you stat bonuses and buffs when consumed.
