Elden Ring: How to Use Quickslot Pouch Items

Developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, Elden Ring is a new action RPG set in a huge open-world that features a story and lore co-written by George R.R. Martin. There are plenty of tough bosses to fight in the game, along with tons of items and tools at your disposal. Here’s how to use quickslot pouch items in Elden Ring.

While you could just put everything on your inventory bar and use them with the square or X button, that can be wildly inefficient especially when you’re in combat. The pouch lets you access key items that aren’t necessarily all that useful in a fight, allowing you to free up inventory slots.

Using Quickslot Pouch Items

  1. Open the character menu with the Options or Menu button.

Use the d-pad to access the pouch slots on the right side of the screen, right above your emote slots.elden ring quickslot pouch

  2. Hover over an empty pouch slot, then press triangle or Y to access your full inventory.

  3. Select the item from your inventory that you want to place in that particular pouch slot.

  4. Exit the menu once you’re done.

After you’ve done this, you can easily access your quickslot pouch items by holding triangle or Y, then pressing a direction on the d-pad that corresponds with your pouch slots to use it.

We recommend keeping combat-based items in your main inventory slots, and reserving the pouch for other essential items. For instance, we have the Spectral Steed Whistle slotted in the pouch, along with some multiplayer items.

These are items that players do use somewhat regularly, and having them in the pouch makes them more accessible rather than having to access the character menu every time.
