FFXIV Endwalker: How to Start Melee DPS Role Quest (Monk, Dragoon, Ninja, Samurai, Reaper)

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker has arrived and players are already jumping into the latest and hopefully greatest FFXIV expansion that will send off the game’s first story saga. If you’re here, you’re probably already knee-deep into the game’s story and are wondering how to get started on your melee DPS role quest in FFXIV: Endwalker. Here’s everything you need to know.

It’s worth mentioning that there are a total of five role quest types in Endwalker: tank, healer, ranged DPS, melee DPS, and magical DPS. You’ll be able to take on all of them, as long as you have a job that fits in each of those categories and each will take you along a different story route. In this case, of course, we’ll be going with the melee DPS role quest.

Starting Melee DPS Role Quest in FFXIV Endwalker

The first thing you need to do is speak to the Limsa Lominsan Delegate in Radz-at-Han (X:7.7 Y:9.6). If you’re looking for the name of the quest on your map markers, it’s called Storm Clouds Brewing, and it will require some progress in the FFXIV Endwalker story to reach and start.

You won’t be able to get to Radz-at-Han right away, but don’t worry, continue along with the main storyline and you’ll eventually get there simply by following the Endwalker main story quests.

Obviously, you’ll need to be level 80 and have completed your previous role quest from Shadowbringers in addition to all of the main story up to the point where the melee DPS role quest becomes unlocked. It of course applies to the Dragoon, Monk, Ninja, Samurai jobs, and the new Reaper job as well.

It’s likely that you’ll have to complete the entirety of the role quest line before you’re able to beat the story so we recommend keeping up with them when you can so you don’t have to do a bunch of backtracking. You don’t need to complete all of the role quests, though, just one is fine for the purposes of the main story.

That’s all you need to know about how to start the melee DPS role quest in FFXIV Endwalker. For more on FFXIV: Endwalker, make sure to search our latest guides and news content right here.
