As you approach the end of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Sunyshore City will be your final stop on the way before taking on the Elite Four and Cynthia. The little city on the east coast of Sinnoh is home to the Vista Lighthouse, the Sunyshore Market, and most importantly, the Volkner’s Sunyshore Gym. How to Get to Sunyshore City in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
Once you melt down Candice’s Ice-types at the Snowpoint City Gym to get the Icicle Badge, you may want to rush towards Sunyshore and challenge Volkner for the final badge. But there’s still a Legendary Pokemon and most of Team Galactic to deal with before you can get to the final gym battle in Sinnoh.
First, you’ll have to head to the giant mountain that splits the Sinnoh region into East and West, Mt. Coronet. To get there, you’ll need to approach it from the Southwest through Oreburgh City, the location where you had your first Gym battle. Route 207 should lead you to Mt. Coronet.
Your goal at this point will be to reach the Spear Pillar which is located at the top of the mountain. To reach the peak, you’ll need Pokemon that know the HMs Surf and Rock Climb. A Bibarel will do here since it can learn a wide range of different HMs.
On the way up you’ll encounter Team Galactic Commanders Mars and Saturn. Once you dispatch them, then your next challenge is Galactic Leader Cyrus.
From there, you’ll get the chance to catch either Dialga or Palkia depending upon which version of the game you have. Just be careful to save before the battle so you don’t KO the Legendary Pokemon.
Finally, you’re almost ready to make your way to Sunyshore City. All that’s left to do is leave Mt. Coronet and head over to Pastoria City. From there, you can head East to Routes 213 and 222 until you reach Sunyshore City. Good luck taking on Volkner’s Electric-type Pokemon.
