How to Get the Digger Drill
To get the Digger Drill, you’ll need to head back to Eterna City and speak to the Underground Man — the same man who gave you the Explorer Kit that allows you to go down into the Grand Underground.
His house is the one right next to the PokeCenter. Enter and speak to him, ad he’ll give you tasks that you’ll need to complete inside the Grand Underground. First, he’ll ask you to find items using the tools he’s provided. You can do this by interacting with the bright star-like icons along the paths on the Grand Underground map.
Complete the mini-game that pops up to use the tools that you have to find treasure in the walls of the caverns. Return to the Underground Man and he’ll give you the DIgger Drill as a reward, no matter what you find.
How to Use the Digger Drill
Next, the Underground Man will tell you to create a Secret Base. The Digger Drill is needed to create a Secret Base, and all you need to do is use it anywhere in the Grand Underground to get started on a base of your own.
To use the item, walk up to any wall inside the Grand Underground, and press A. It’s a one-time use item, so be sure that you’re ready to make a base when using it.
