Update 2.0 is finally out for Animal Crossing New Horizons players, and it’s definitely one to be excited about. Not only has Brewster and his cafe finally been added to the game, players will also be able to donate Bells to help NPCs set up permanent shops on Harv’s island, and engage in a new cooking system as well. There’s plenty of content here that will definitely bring lapsed players back for a long while. Here’s how to get wheat in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Getting Wheat in Animal Crossing New Horizons
The cooking system is one of the most exciting additions to Animal Crossing New Horizons, and it allows players to prep meals and cook food items, which can then be eaten or used as decorative items on the island. We definitely recommend the latter over the former.
Before you can start cooking, however, you’ll need some ingredients, such as wheat, which is used to make flour and wholemeal flour.
Wheat starts can be bought from Leif when he visits your island, or if you donate 100,000 Bells to the gyroids on Harv’s island, you can help Leif set up a permanent shop there so you can buy from him whenever you want. Wheat and pumpkin starts can only be obtained from Leif during the fall season, and you can buy them for 280 Bells each.
Once you have your starts, head back to the island, select them from your inventory, and plant them on the ground. After that, you just need to wait three days to harvest them. If you water them daily, you’ll also be able to increase the amount of wheat you can harvest on the fourth day.
The good thing about the wheat starts is that they’re not one-use items; even after you’ve harvested them, you can continue to water them to get even more.
That’s all you need to know about how to get wheat in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
