Toona Fish is the new customizable Battle Pass skin in Fortnite Season 8. By collecting various Color Bottles and Rainbow Ink in matches, players are able to customize it to their liking. What Are Color Bottles & Rainbow Ink?
Fortnite Color Bottles are a new collectible item that is used to paint the Toona Fish character, available as part of the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 Battle Pass.
Rainbow Ink is a different kind of customizable item –though they’re easy to get confused with Color Bottles– and allow you to customize Toona Fish with a predefined character style.
How to Get Color Bottles in Fortnite
Fortnite Color Bottles are located in specific named locations or POIs across the Fortnite island, similar to the Alien Artifacts from last season.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether all of these have been released at once, or whether they’ll be released on a week-by-week basis.

How to Get Rainbow Ink in Fortnite
Rainbow Ink can be found inside chests. While it doesn’t drop from every chest that you open, it does appear to be fairly common meaning you shouldn’t have too much trouble racking up enough of this to customize your Toona Fish character with a predefined Character Style.
How to Paint Toona Fish
To paint and customize your Toona Fish skin, you’ll first need to unlock it from the Battle Pass. It costs 10 Battle Stars and is available from the first page of the Battle Pass rewards.
Once you’ve got this, head to the Battle Pass tab and select the ‘Toona Fish’ option.
You’ll now be shown all of the different colors you can paint Toona Fish if you’ve collected the required Fortnite Color Bottles.
Just beneath these, there are also the predefined character styles, based on other popular characters from the Fortnite universe that can be purchased with Rainbow Ink.
Simply select the one you want to purchase or select and press A/X/LMB. Confirm your purchase and you’ll unlock it. Now simply equip it and you’ll add a dash of color to your Toona Fish character to really make it your own.
