Pokemon Unite: How to Unlock Pokemon (Unite Licences)

If there’s one thing that everyone in the world knows about Pokemon, it’s that you gotta catch ’em all. Unlike the mainline games, you don’t need to catch creatures in order to use them. Here’s everything you need to know about how to unlock every Unite License in Pokemon Unite.

How to Unlock Unite Licenses in Pokemon Unite

Since you don’t obtain Pokemon by catching them, you’ll have to gather their Unite Licenses in order to obtain them. Once you get a Pokemon’s Unite License, the creature will be unlocked for you to play.

There are a number of ways to obtain the Unite Licenses for Pokemon in this game. The tutorial, the 14-day login bonus, raising your trainer level, and more.

Tutorial

This is the easiest way to obtain your first Unite License. As you play through the tutorial, you’ll get to choose one Unite License. As of right now, the starters available in Pokemon Unite are Pikachu, Eldegoss, Talonflame, Charizard, and Snorlax.

14-Day Login Bonus

When you start playing the game, you’ll receive a free gift every day just for logging in. Currently, the daily login Unite Licenses you can obtain with this method are Alolan Ninetails (Day 2), Cinderace (Day 8), and Greninja (Day 14)

Raising Trainer Level

As you play through Pokemon Unite and raise your trainer level, you’ll obtain a couple of Licenses. As of right now, only Slowbro and Venusaur are available with this method.

Spending Aeos Coins or Gems

If you don’t feel like waiting, you can purchase the Pokemon that are obtainable simply by playing the game. However, there are also a handful of other Unite Licenses you can obtain by spending currency, including the starter Pokemon you didn’t pick.

At this time, the following Pokemon can only be purchased with in-game currency:

• Lucario
• Garchomp
• Absol
• Gengar
• Mr. Mime
• Machamp
• Crustle
• Cramorant
• Wigglytuff

Keep in mind that the four starters you didn’t choose will also be available for purchase in the shop. Aeos Coins and Games can be obtained by simply playing the game or you can buy them with real-world money.

Mail

As a special gift for playing close to the launch of Pokemon Unite, you will receive a mail message that will give you a Zeraora License. It’ll be obtainable via other methods in the future as well, but for now, you can just open your mail to get this powerful Pokemon.
