Link first meets Kukiel in Skyward Sword after looking for his Crimson Loftwing. When you meet her in front of her house, she tells him that she plans to go play with her “Special Friend” that day.
If you return to the house after receiving the Goddess Sword, Kukiel is nowhere to be found. Once you receive the Ruby Tablet, though, you’ll have a troubling conversation with her mother.
Where to Find Kukiel in Skyward Sword
After completing the first dungeon and receiving the Ruby Tablet, Kukiel’s mother will approach you and say that her daughter is missing. To find her, the first thing you need to do is go to your bed and sleep.
Sleeping will make it nighttime, which is the only portion of the day you’ll be able to find Kukiel in Skyward Sword. One night comes, head over to the graveyard. Use your Skyward Strike on the top left gravestone, then push it forward.
When you move the gravestone, a door will open nearby. Head on over to the door and follow the path that leads to a house. Once inside the house, you’ll meet Batreaux to start the Gratitude Crystal sidequest. This is also where you’ll find Kukiel.
