Genshin Impact: How to Get Genesis Crystals & What They’re Used For

Genshin Impact is one of the biggest and most successful free-to-play gacha games on the market right now, thanks in no small part to MiHoYo’s consistency with content updates and new characters to keep players invested. While the microtransactions are non-intrusive and completely optional, there are times where you might consider looking into those if you want higher chances of getting a character you like. Here’s how to get Genesis Crystals in Genshin Impact and what they’re for.

Getting Genesis Crystals in Genshin Impact

Genesis Crystals are a premium currency that you can buy in the in-game store, and their primary purpose is to be converted into primogems, which are used to roll wishes to get new weapons and characters. To purchase them, bring up the menu and choose the Shop option, then go to the Crystal Top-Up tab.

From here, you’ll see a whole bunch of purchasing options at different prices. It’s worth noting that if you’ve never bought Genesis Crystals, you get a first-time buyer bonus for each package. For instance, the 6,480 package will give you 6,480 Genesis Crystals, plus an additional 6,480 as a bonus, and the same goes for each different tier.

How to Use Them

After you’ve purchased your Crystals, choose the Wish option from your menu and click on your primogems in the top right corner.

From here, you can convert your Crystals into primogems, which can then be used to start rolling wishes. There are no other uses for Genesis Crystals aside from converting them into primogems for wishes, so only purchase them if you’re trying to roll for a weapon or character.
