The original Mass Effect trilogy is known for a lot of things, both good and bad. An aspect that falls into the latter are its lengthy elevator ride times, which were used to mask load times when the titles originally released. Fortunately, recent re-releases have cut down on these load times considerably, meaning you can bypass them almost entirely if you know how to skip elevator rides in Mass Effect.
That’s why we’ve constructed this guide. Below you’ll find details on how to use this skip, when it can be triggered, and more.
How to Skip Elevator Rides in Mass Effect
It’s easy to skip elevator rides in the original Mass Effect trilogy, but you do need to wait for the right time to do it. This is because the games will still need to load in the next area, and won’t allow you to skip the ride until they’ve done so.
After stepping into an elevator, wait a few seconds for the games to indicate that it has loaded the next area and the rest of the ride can be skipped. You won’t be able to use the skip until this occurs, so don’t bother trying until this indication appears.
Once it appears, press either the X Button on PlayStation consoles or the A Button on Xbox consoles. This will instantly bring you to the next floor, and you can get right back to your adventures in gathering alien crewmates, investigating the approaching Reaper invasion, or whatever else you’re doing.
That’s all there is to it really. It’s a godsend for keeping the gameplay going uninterrupted, and you should use it whenever possible unless you need a quick breather.
