This is it. After hours of fishing in Nier Replicant, you’ve only got one target left to land: The Rhizodont, a legendary creature few have ever captured. The only problem is, you have no idea how to catch the Rhizodont in Nier Replicant, and have been casting your line for hours without any luck.

How to Catch the Rhizodont in Nier Replicant
In order to get the Rhizodont in Nier Replicant, you’ll need to fish at the Desert pier and use Carp as bait.
The Desert pier is where you’ll find the fast travel boat. Carp, meanwhile, can be bought from the Bait Shop in Seafront for 200 gold apiece, and you’ll want to buy a huge surplus of them before heading out. We recommend buying somewhere between 30 and 50 of them, depending on your current funds.
Once you’re ready, head to the pier and cast your line with some Carp as bait. Wait for a specific bite pattern of two quick nibbles followed by an extended break, then your line being pulled into the water on the third nibble. This will show that a Rhizodont has definitely taken your bait, and you’ll be good to pull the line in.
It’ll likely take you a few tries to get this to occur though. The Rhizodont stands right alongside the Dunkleosteus as one of the hardest fish to catch in the game, and you’ll need to have RNG on your side to get it to appear.
Stay patient, and keep at it. Eventually, you should be able to hook one and bring it in just as you would any other fish. Remember to pull the left analog stick back, in the opposite direction of where the water ripples are. Do this as often as possible to reduce its health quickly and efficiently.
What You Get for Catching the Rhizodont
What you get out of catching the Rhizodont in Nier Replicant is pretty worthwhile.
Capturing this legendary creature gets you the Fish of Legend Trophy and Achievement, which is one of the game’s hidden accolades. It’ll likewise count toward the A Round at the Pond Trophy and Achievement, which requires you to catch every type of fish in the game at least once. To top it all off, the Rhizodont itself can be sold for several thousand gold to any merchant.
