To throw Fluffruits press B. Some Pokemon will be lured towards it so you can move them, and you can get extra points for pictures of Pokemon eating the Fluffruit. Some Pokemon will move out of the way when a Fluffruit is thrown at them, so experiment with different strategies on different Pokemon that you encounter while playing the game.
Getting Pokemon to act in unique and rare ways will usually allow you to get more stars and help you more quickly progress through the game and unlock new course variants.
