Borderlands 3 Diamond Keys are new, incredibly rare rewards added into the game as part of the new Director’s Cut DLC. This, alongside a bunch of other content, grants you access to the Vault Card progression system and will give you the ‘Fallen Heroes’ card for free. As part of this new progression system, players can earn Diamond Keys which will grant them the chance to get a bunch of incredibly powerful and rare loot. Here’s how to get Diamond Keys in Borderlands 3.
How to Get Diamond Keys in Borderlands 3
Diamond Keys are a potential reward that can be earned by leveling up your Vault Card.
When you’ve completed enough challenges to ‘level up’ your Vault Card, you’ll get a Vault Card Chest, which can contain any of the following items:
- Diamond Keys
- Legendary Gear
Borderlands 3 Diamond Keys are very rare, so don’t expect to get one every single time you level up a Vault Card.
How to Use Diamond Keys
Once you’ve got yourself a Diamond Key, you want to head to the Diamond Armory on the Sanctuary III. This can be found beneath the Bridge on the upper deck.
When you get here, you’ll find a Diamond Chest with the words “Choose Wisely” inscribed on the front. Use the key to open it, and the three walls behind it will open up.
You now have five minutes to go through all of the loot in the room and pick out the best gear for your playstyle. You can only pick one piece of gear from each of the three ‘walls’ before it closes again.
Once you’ve picked up three pieces of gear from the walls, you’ll then be able to get one final, guaranteed Legendary item drop out of the chest in the middle. Grab this, and you’re all set.
