Valheim Flax is a resource that can be used to create different items. It can be processed on the Spinning Wheel to make Linen thread, which itself can be used to create various Blackmetal items, padded gear, and a Linen Cape if you’re feeling like a superhero. In this guide, we’ll show you how to get Flax in Valheim, in case you’re struggling to track it down.
Flax is actually incredibly rare to find, even more so than its other grain-y friend, Barley. As such, you’ll want to focus on keeping your eyes peeled for patches of cultivated land with something growing on them.
How to Get Flax in Valheim
To get Flax in Valheim, head to a Fuling village in the Plains biome. In these Fuling villages, you have a chance of finding a small patch of cultivated land with some Flax growing on it.
To harvest the Flax, simply use your special AoE attack from Atgeir, knocking down all the Flax around you in one fell swoop. This doesn’t damage or lose you any of it in the process, either.
Re-Plant Flax ASAP
As soon as you find Flax, don’t go processing it all immediately. Because it’s so difficult to find, you’ll want to plant some of the Flax you find back in a cultivated field in the Plains Biome.
Flax cannot grow anywhere but the Plains biome, so don’t try this elsewhere. It’s possible to repurpose a Fuling village as a growing field for Flax and/or Barley given all of their defensive structures remain intact, and Fulings themselves don’t respawn inside the village.
Make sure you do this and you’ll never have to worry about Valheim Flax again!
