Valheim is a survival RPG that takes place in a procedurally generated world, seeing you travel between various different biomes, starting in a meadow. Even in early access, the game is beautiful, so it’s nice to put the world front and center while you play by hiding the HUD. If you’d rather remove all the inventory and world indicators, here’s everything you need to know about how to hide the HUD in Valheim.
By default, you’ll usually see your items in the top left of the screen, a mini-map in the top right, and various other icons across the screen to help you work out where you’re going in the world. Since Valheim is all about exploration and trying to survive, is arguably more immersive without the HUD in the way.
How to Hide HUD in Valheim
Unlike other games, which ask you to head into the settings to turn the HUD on and off, Valheim allows you to do so with just the press of a couple of buttons.
While you’re out exploring, you can simply press F3 and Ctrl at the same time to hide the HUD all at once. Then, you can press the same combination of buttons to bring it back if you’re struggling to find your way around without all the extra information.
It’s nice to be able to hide the HUD, or even bring it back, whenever you like, especially if you’re someone who like to take screenshots of the landscape you’re exploring; the game has a lot of potential for wallpapers. It’s also great that you don’t have to venture into the settings to do it.
