Immortals Fenyx Rising: How to Parry Enemies

Developed by Ubisoft, Immortals Fenyx Rising is a brand new open world adventure game that takes some cues from Breath of the Wild and incorporates elements of Greek mythology into its humor and comedic writing. The combat can feel rather basic at the beginning, but as it opens up more, you’ll have more options for dealing with different enemy types in various encounters. Here’s how to parry enemies in Immortals Fenyx Rising.

Parrying Enemies in Immortals Fenyx Rising

Simply dodging around attacks will only get you so far; if you want to really master the combat system in Immortals Fenyx Rising, you’ll need to get used to parrying enemies at some point.

After obtaining the sword and completing the first Tartaros level during the tutorial, you’ll learn how to parry. All you have to do is tap the L1 and R1 buttons together at the same time, and Fenyx will perform a spinning parry with her sword.

If you press the buttons right before an enemy is about to land an attack on you, you’ll successfully parry them. This will build up their blue stun bar significantly, and even give you a small window of opportunity to deal increased damage to them.

That said, not all attacks can be parried. Whenever an enemy glows red as they ready up an attack, it’s time to dodge out of the way. Red glowing attacks cannot be parried and will likely deal massive damage to you, so make sure to roll away whenever you see the glow.

Other than that, feel free to parry away. Once an enemy’s blue stun bar is filled up, they’ll be stunned and incapacitated for a few seconds, allowing you to deal even more damage to them.
