Cyberpunk 2077’s Tapeworm side job is one of its more unusual ones. Rather than having you go from objective to objective, it instead focuses solely on four conversations you’ll have with Johnny Silverhand. In this guide, we’ll run you through each of these four conversations and how best to respond to get the goodies on offer.
How to Complete Tapeworm Quest Guide
Conversations with Johny
As we mentioned above, this side job focuses solely around conversations you have with Johnny Silverhand after the following main missions:
- Automatic Love
- Life During Wartime
- Search and Destroy
These conversations are pretty straightforward, we’d recommend you always listen to what Johnny has to say and be civil, rather than suppressing him with the Omega Blockers or getting angry with him. Doing so can lock you out of getting some of Johnny Silverhand’s goodies further down the line.
Once the conversation is over, that’s it until you reach the next conversation following the next quest listed above. That is, except after ‘Search and Destroy’ where V passes out and you end up waking up in Pacifica.

You’ll then get into an argument about whether or not Johnny tried to kill or save you. After this is over, follow Johnny around the building and through the window.
Johnny will tell V that he’s hidden a few things away in the room. Look at the vent and investigate to pull them out. This will then initiate a rather lengthy conversation where Johnny shares details on his past, among other things, but we’ll say no more to save you from spoilers.
Once the conversation is done, simply leave through the window again and you’ll complete the quest.
