Winter has arrived in Animal Crossing New Horizons, and with it come a new series of items added to the game. In preparation for Toy Day, which is the game’s equivalent to Christmas, there are brand new toy items for you to obtain. One of the cutest items in this series is the Puppy Plushie. How to Get Puppies (Puppy Plushies) in Animal Crossing New Horizons

The first thing to keep in mind about getting your very own Puppy Plushie is that your game must be updated to the latest version of the game, version 1.6.0, which is the winter update. This is the update in which the Toy Day items were added to the game.

If your game is updated to that version or a later version, it needs to be the month of December so you can obtain a Puppy Plushie. Make sure your Switch’s clock is set to the correct month.

The Puppy Plushie appears in Nook’s Cranny in the special item section of the store in the month of from December 1 through December 25, but the item that shows up their is random. This means that on any given day during the month, there might be a Plushie, or there might be another toy.

If you check your Nook’s Cranny store and there’s a different toy item in the shop, simply wait for the next day or change your Switch’s clock to the next day.

The Puppy Plushie costs 2,400 Bells, and they’re not limited, so you can buy as many as you want each day.

There are a total of eight color variations: beige, brown, yellow, spotted, black, tri-colored, grey, and pink.

Unfortunately, the Puppy Plushie cannot be customized, so if you want a certain color variation, you’ll have to keep checking Nook’s Cranny every day hoping it appears or trade with a friend.

The plushie is a cute decoration for any home or island if you want it to look like you have a real dog as a pet in your game. If you interact with it, it moves it legs and head as if it were running in place.
