8 Things to Do After Beating Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Complete the Asgard Story Arc

This is likely to be a bit of a no-brainer for most Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players, but since the Asgard quest arc is entirely optional it’s possible that many people have missed out.

And that would be a huge shame, too, because it’s easily Assassin’s Creed’s best mythological storyline to date, taking place across two fairly large open-world maps that spotlight iconic locations in Norse mythology.

If you aren’t sure how to trigger the questline you can check out our dedicated guide. But in brief, all you need to do is build the Seer’s hut at Ravensthorpe after Valka joins the settlement.

The Asgard quest arc is pretty substantial and takes around five hours to complete. There are several special collectibles and points of interest to explore in both Asgard and Jotunheim, too.

Get Excalibur

There are a huge number of collectibles and gearsets to find across England, but none of them are as cool as Excalibur. This weapon will be familiar to anybody who knows Arthurian legend as the mighty greatsword carried by King Arthur himself. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it’s the most powerful sword in the game.

But getting Excalibur is a lengthy process that requires you to find 11 Treasures of Britain before visiting Stonehenge to place them deep within an underground tomb. Most of these are platforming and puzzle challenges, but some are combat encounters against Zealots. Luckily we have a guide that showcases all the Treasure of Britain locations.

Complete Contracts for Reda

If you’ve truly run out of things to do then Reda is your man. Well, boy.

You should know him already as the young kid who joins your settlement and offers you contracts in exchange for rewards. Not only that, but he also has a shop that sells unique items that rotate on a daily and weekly basis.

Reda has a bunch of cool cosmetics and unique pieces of gear to purchase in exchange for Opal. This rare currency is often a reward for completing his contracts, though you can also purchase it with real money as a microtransaction if you want to speed up the process.

Master Orlog

If you’re looking for an entirely new challenge in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and you haven’t yet tried Orlog then there’s no better time to become a master player than after beating the main storyline.

There are dozens of Orlog players to take on throughout England and Norway, meaning there’s basically a whole DIY questline to enjoy. In addition to the Silver you’ll earn along the way beating everyone, there’s a Trophy/Achievement at the end of it all, too.

If you’re unsure about how to play the game then we have a how to play Orlog guide that’ll explain the basics. Learning takes a little bit of patience, but Orlog is actually a really fun game once you’re up to speed — though there’s a bit more luck involved than something like, say, Gwent in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Take Photos

Like most AAA games these days, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has a pretty robust photo mode that allows you to create some spectacular screenshots of the game’s prettiest moments. If you haven’t yet played around with the feature then we definitely recommend giving it a go, especially since there are so many gorgeous locations throughout the game.

If you’re unfamiliar with using photo mode and would like a quick tutorial, then check out our dedicated article on exactly that.

Destroy The Order

Once again, the nefarious Order of the Ancients are the main antagonists in an Assassin’s Creed game, lurking in the shadows as they attempt to exert their influence across the world.

You’ll already know all that if you’ve completed Valhalla, of course, but you may not have stamped out their authority completely unless you took the time to track down every last member of their ranks.

If you’re looking for meaningful things to do across the world then wiping out the rest of The Order seems like a good place to start. In addition to assassination targets, there are all the Zealot bosses to take down, too, which are some of the hardest combat encounters in the game.

Our handy how to beat Zealots guide is essential reading for those who struggle with timing their parries and getting past the enormous shields that Zealots wield.

Trophies/Achievements

If you’re a fan of Trophies/Achievements in games then this one isn’t going to be new information, but for those who aren’t then maybe consider having a go with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla if you’re looking for something to do.

You might be surprised by just how much additional gameplay trophies/achievements add to the overall experience as you tick off various combat challenges, puzzles, and collectibles.

Mop Up, Prepare for DLC

If you’ve truly completed everything Valhalla has to offer then fair play to you, but we’d bet that most players still have a fair whack to tick off. And honestly, with so much to collect, we’d understand if you couldn’t be bothered mopping up every little item in the game.

Still, you might consider finding the game’s best gear and weapons, as well as raising Eivor’s Power Level as high as possible given that there’s a bunch of cool DLC on the way moving forward.

Whether those will require you to be at a certain level before accessing we’re not sure, but it’s probably a good idea to have Eivor as prepared as possible to take on whatever comes next.

Some ideas to get you started include beating all the Standing Stones puzzles, completing all the statue offerings, and collecting all the Ymir’s Tear/Bloodstones (Asgard) for a decent Skill Point boost. Also, finding gearsets and Tungsten Ingots to create mythical level gear will help boost Eivor’s stats.

Finally, if you’re looking for something more lighthearted then consider locating Artifacts and exchanging them at the museum in your settlement for some cool Roman decorations.
