You Can Reroll

From the main menu of Ghost of Tsushima Legends, click on Character and then Gear to get a good look at all of the weapons and charms you currently possess.

If the item has a perk on it, you can press the Square button to check out the modifications screen, which allows you to do a couple of different things. You can use resources to reroll all aspects of the item, reroll the property, or reroll the perk.

Each option requires you to give up Honor, Essence, and/or Shrines, which you can obtain by completing daily challenges, doing bonus objectives in matches, or dismantling your gear, which we can get into next.

Dismantle Your Useless Gear

Ghost of Tsushima Legends Tips

Once you begin to obtain stronger gear with more useful perks, stat boosts, and a higher Chi level, you can start to dismantle the gear that you won’t be touching anymore.

You can dismantle any gear, except your starter items, to receive a little bit of Essence and Honor. Just go to the Gear menu and then hold Triangle for two seconds. Just be sure not to accidentally get rid of your high-leveled Gear by accident because there is no way to redo this action.

The rarer the Gear is, the more currency you’ll receive for dismantling it.

Complete the Bonus Objectives for Better Rewards

Ghost of Tsushima Legends Tips

Whenever you’re doing a Ghost of Tsushima Legends mission, there will be random bonus objectives that pop up on-screen.

These can range from performing a perfect parry on 20 enemies to taking down 15 enemies with a bow.

They’re exactly like the extra objectives that are in the main story of Ghost of Tsushima and, if done, can reap you tons of bonus rewards such as Shrines and Essence –two things used for rerolling weapons and unlocking new skills for the classes.

Don’t Waste the Drums

Ghost of Tsushima Legends Tips

Every survival mission map in Ghost of Tsushima Legends has several healing drums scattered across the area. These can pretty much fully heal your entire party, but you have to make sure to use them only when necessary.

These send out a pulsing effect that heals everyone standing close to it for about 5-10 seconds. So if most of your team is on the other side of the map, dealing with stuff on their own, you probably shouldn’t activate it just yet, considering they won’t be able to make it over before the healing ends.

You want to use these in-between waves when your group is waiting for the next group of foes. You can always ping the healing drums if you hold L2 and then press down on the right stick, signaling your friends to come over and heal.

Just don’t be that person who selfishly uses the drums for themselves. Be a good teammate.

Watch the Skies for Smoke

At the beginning of each wave, you will see red-colored smoke in the sky that signifies which area the enemies are coming from. Make sure you’re looking at the skies before new waves so you and your team can create a strategy.

Going into an area by yourself can be risky so it might be best to handle situations in pairs, especially when groups of enemies start showing up at several locations at once.

There needs to be a nice flow going on, or else you’ll be wasting precious time. Besides the first early waves, there’s really no need for all four players to be together fighting a few easy foes.

Spread out when possible, and be aware of what’s happening on the field at all times. If there are four of you together and there are only five enemies or so in that area, lend your talents to a different area instead of just being a bystander.

Spend Your Magatama Wisely

Ghost of Tsushima Legends Tips

Magatama is the main currency that you’ll be obtaining while playing though Ghost of Tsushima Legends’ survival missions. You’ll get some for killing enemies, getting farther into the waves, and completing other activities.

You can then spend these at the shrine, in which there is one on every map. You will find items that can be purchased but can only be used one time before you have to repurchase it (there’s also a cooldown period so they can’t be spammed).

The less expensive items are usually ones that can replenish your party ammo and another that can regenerate your friends’ health, no matter their location on the map.

You can also summon a spirit bear that attacks enemies or another that instantly ignites enemies that nearby your allies.

If you are going to spend your Magatama on these, they can all prove useful in some way but try not to use it too early. Going through 15+ waves of enemies can take a very long time, so save them until the perfect moment. You’ll know the moment when it happens.

But if your team is fully healed and you’re only on wave five or something, save it for later.

(Bonus) Always Pet the Dog

And this is just a fun bonus one. But if you ever have the opportunity to pet one of the spirit animals, just do it. It doesn’t matter if your entire team is waiting for you to revive them or if there are literally 20 enemies surrounding you.

Just pet the dang dogs.

We’re obviously kidding, but seriously, since the button to pet animals is R2, you will sometimes find yourself accidentally petting something at the worst moments. Luckily, you can cancel out of the animation, but why would you want to do that?
