The Manual is a fairly simple trick to execute and it’s the only one that doesn’t require the use of any face buttons. All you need is the left stick or the D-Pad to pull off this move. You don’t even need to get any air since you’ll just be balancing on the front or rear trucks of your board.

To start a Manual, just press up then down on the D-Pad or left stick and you’ll start balancing on the back truck. This will bring up a balance meter similar to the one that you see when you grind or do a lip trick.

Keep that arrow from going to far to one side or the other in order to keep your Manual going. A Nose Manual is pretty much the same thing. You’re still balancing on one of your trucks, but this time it’s the front ones instead of the back. Press the D-Pad or left stick down then up to Nose Manual.

Manuals are great for extending combos, but your options don’t stop at those two Manual tricks. You can also change up the type of manual you’re performing by double-tapping Square, Triangle, Circle (PS) or X, Y, B (Xbox). These can help increase your combo multiplier even further.
