Getting Pumpkins in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Pumpkins are a new vegetable you can grow in the game, and as you might expect, they’re a required material for all of the new Halloween-themed DIY Recipes you’re gonna be getting through this update. After you’ve installed the update, you’ll need to wait till Oct. 1 to be able to start buying pumpkin starters.

Head over to Nook’s Cranny and check the cabinet to find the pumpkin starters. They’ll be sold for 280 Bells per starter.

However, if Leif happens to be visiting your island that day, you can buy the starters from him instead at a 50% discount. Leif sells each starter for 140 Bells, which will allow you to save a ton of money.

After you’ve gotten your starters, all you have to do is plant them in soil or grass like any other plant in Animal Crossing New Horizons. After that, you’ll want to water them. They’ll sprout in about five days whether you water them or not, but if you do decide to water them, your harvest will be much more bountiful.

Since you can only get the starters during October, it’s definitely recommended that you water them daily to make the most of your time. Your pumpkins can also have different colorations, so you’ll also want to grow as many as you can to collect all the different colors.

That’s all you need to know about how to get pumpkins in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and informatino on the game.
