FFXIV Patch 5.3: How to Get the Incitatus Mount

With the release of patch 5.3 for Final Fantasy XIV this month, there’s plenty of new content for players to sink their teeth into. As you get busy diving into all the new story content, though, don’t forget to check out the brand new Unreal Trial and Faux Hollows as well. Here’s how to get the Incitatus mount in FFXIV.

Getting the Incitatus Mount in FFXIV Patch 5.3

With patch 5.3, the Incitatus is a new horse mount that you can obtain in the game. There are two main ways to get it: either by farming the new Unreal Shiva Trial for Faux Hollows, or hoping that you get lucky with your Wondrous Tails journal completion.

First off, you can unlock Faux Hollows by talking to the Painfully Ishgardian Man NPC at Idyllshire. Simply follow the quest objectives to unlock the Hollows, and Shiva Unreal will be available in your Duty Finder.

You’ll then have to farm the Trial once a week for six weeks in order to obtain 600 Leaves, which can then be turned in for the Incitatus Whistle. Select the Whistle from your inventory and use it, and you’ll be able to summon the Incitatus mount like any other mount in the game.

Alternatively, you can also try to get one of Khloe’s Gold Certificates of Commendation through Wondrous Tails. Every week, you can get a Wondrous Tails journal from her, collect nine stamps, then try to arrange the stamps so that they fill up three lines on the journal.

If you manage to do that, you can get a Gold Certificate and exchange that for an Incitatus Whistle without having to go through the Leaves grind.
