Persona 4 Golden, like other games in the popular Shin Megami Tensei Persona series, allows you to level up certain areas of your personality. Aside from being a better a person, doing this will give you a few benefits as well. In this guide we’re going to talk about the Courage social quality, and show the various ways you can max out your Courage stat in Persona 4 Golden and the perks you get for doing so.
How to Max Courage in Persona 4 Golden
Courage is arguably the second most important stat behind Knowledge in Persona 4 Golden as not only is it required for two fairly important social links (including one unique to Persona 4 Golden), but it also opens up some dialogue options sometimes which is nice to have. Also, it’s required to complete Aiya’s Rainy Day Challenge.
There are a variety of ways to level up and max your Courage in Persona 4 Golden. Let’s go over them.
Below you can check out all the ways you can increase your Courage stat in Persona 4 Golden, but there are a few important things you should be aware of.
Raising Courage is pretty straightforward compared to some other social quality stats in Persona 4 Golden. A sneaky way to raise Courage though includes eating the rotten food in the Fridge which you should always do when given the opportunity.
This is because there aren’t a ton of ways to raise Courage unlike something like Knowledge or Understanding which you can level up every day if you wanted to.
On a rainy day make sure to visit Aiya for a Courage boost by giving the Rainy Day Challenge a shot and/or read Courage books when you get them.
- Working the hospital part-time job
- Killing the optional boss at the end of dungeons you’ve completed
- Reading the following books: Forever Macho, The Great Man, Man-God, Man of History, Guide to Pests
- Eating at Aiya on rainy days
- Eating the old/rotted food from the Fridge
What You Need Courage For in Persona 4 Golden
You will need Courage to unlock two social links. The Moon social link, aka Ai (need rank 3). The final party members social link will require maxed out Courage and Knowledge to unlock. Assuming you want all your party members maxed out for maximum battle perks, definitely make sure you prioritize leveling up Courage over just about everything other than Knowledge as far as social quality stats go.
Courage will sometimes also provide you with some dialog options to help rank up social links a bit faster which is nice to have if you have it.
