Opening the Map

Getting the map open is pretty simple, but it’s an important step in checking your current objective.

All you need to do is press the touch pad on you PS4 controller and the map of the new version of Midgar will pop up.

Then, you’ll see on the map that main quests are marked in blue and side quests are marked in green.

Checking Your Objectives

To check objectives that are active at that time, you can press L1 and R1 to cycle through them and then you’ll be able to choose which ones to track.

With an objective highlighted, you can then press square to do so, making it the one that you’ll be following once you exit the menus. You can also press triangle to show where it is in relation to your current location, which allows you to work out how much travelling you need to do or change what one you want to track so that you’re using your time more efficiently.

Doing this quite often allow you to ensure that you’re not getting lost during quests. It also allows you to keep track of nearby side quests if you’re looking to complete all of them as you go, rather than just blasting through the story content.
