How to Send Mail to Villagers in Animal Crossing New Horizons

It’s very simple to send your favorite villager a message. All you have to do is enter the Dodo Airlines airport (which opens on your second day) and head to the right side of the desk to the card stand.

To be able to send a message, you must have at least 200 bells on hand, because that’s how much it will cost. First, interact with the card stand, and select your recipient. This is where you choose which of your villagers you wish to send mail to. You can also send a letter to your future self.

Once you have selected your recipient, you can pick which design you want your card to look like. Some of the designs never expire, such as the birthday card and the blue-sky card, but there are also card designs with limited availability, such as one with a Bunny Day pattern.

After choosing the design of your card, it’s time to write your message. Use the keyboard on the screen to type what you want to say to your villager. Finally, when you have finished, you will see a preview of the letter.

On the preview screen, you can choose whether or not you want to attach a gift with the message. You can select one of your items on hand to send along with the letter you’ve written, and the villager will receive it.

After you’ve sent the mail, your villagers might later tell you that they have received it, or you may see them using the item you sent them. In many cases, you could even receive a letter back from them acknowledging your message.

Though it’s an optional part of the game, it’s a lot of fun to write letters to send to your villagers. It’s a great way to create a connection with them and make the game feel more personal.
