Best Sims 4 Life State Mods You Can’t Play Without

There have been several Sims 4 expansions and game packs that have added new life states for your sims.

There’s mermaids in Island Living, vampires in the Vampires expansion, Spellcasters in Realm of Magic, Aliens in Get to Work, and a few others.

But The Sims 4 modding community has also made some life state mods of their own, offering totally new options for your sims to become new and mysterious creatures. Some mods have also taken some base game life states and drastically improved them.

So here is a collection of the very best Sims 4 life state mods the internet has to offer.

Ogres

Here is a mythical beast that EA has yet to add to any of its Sims games. This mod adds ogres for the first time with tons of new functionality.

Sims as young as toddlers can become an ogre, and ogres have the unique ability that allows them to eat other sims for nourishment. If other normal sims see this occurring, they will run away or possibly even throw up. Eating a sim will also cause an ogre to gain weight drastically.

Ogres also roar, enjoy playing in the mud, order ogre juice if they don’t feel like eating a sim, and scare normal sims with their brutish actions.

Fans of the Shrek films can also make an ogre similar to Fiona’s curse, where they become a half-ogre and only transform into their greener form during the night.

Succubus/Incubus/Cambion

This mod allows your female sims to become a succubus and male sims to become an incubus. Two mythical creatures from the medieval period who seduce others to steal from them, whether it’s their money, their energy, or their life.

In this mod, a succubus or incubus will feed on the energy of others using lust and seduction. They can remain young forever if they drain another sim’s life.

Traits of a succubus/incubus include:

• No bladder/thirst decay
• No cravings to eat food
• Body shape stays the same
• Must drain the energy or life from other sims to feed
• Can change age into young adult, adult, elder after draining the life from another sim
• All their children will be born as a Cambion regardless of their partners

Children of these sims become Cambions, what European mythology and literature refer to as he offspring of an incubus or succubus with a human.

Cambions will have a buff that triggers when they’re around other sims with negative moodlets, and this buff stops all need decay, increases the speed of all skill bars, increases the speed of making objects, and adds 100 aspirations points to the Cambion sim.

They also will have successful social interactions almost 100 percent of the time.

Be warned though, there is no turning back once your sim becomes a succubus or incubus.

Witches and Warlocks

Don’t want to drop the dough on the Realm of Magic game pack? This mod offers an alternative to spellcaster sims in the form of witches and warlocks.

It includes some new CAS items like hairdos and witch/wizards hats, a new witch/warlock trait for any sim aged teen to elder, and new buy mode objects with some that offer gameplay interactions.

Witches and warlocks can use the Magic Broom Closet to ride their broom, the Mystic’s Table to peek into the future, the Mythical Bonfire to interact with spirits, and the Loyal Witchy Cauldron to mix up to five potions.

If a human sim tries to interact with any of these items, they won’t work for them.

Witches and Warlocks can also have special communication options relating to magic, and can use various different spells that affect needs and physical and mental conditions.

The mod pack also offers a new quest, that has you interact with a golden witch statue to begin a magical mission.

Fairies

This life state mod allows your sims to become fairies, complete with a whole new look and tons of abilities and interactions.

Fairy sims have wings and pointy ears. To become one you simply have to buy and plead to the ‘Fairies tree’ on a lot. It can be found in build mode under the tree section.

Some of the new interactions and options a fairy sim can do include:

• Fly around to increase the fun need
• Sometimes have a special idle animation
• Develop the mischief skill much faster
• Have access to two new buffs including “Feeling Playful” (+3 playful) and “Where’s the fun?!?” (+4 Bored)
• Give children a happy buff when they see them
• Have sparkles appear on their backs
• Have their Fun and Social needs drop much faster
• Fly instead of walk around lots
• Change their wing colors to Black, Yellow, White, Red, Pink, and Green
• Cast five magic auras including Aura of Soothing, of Body and Mind, of Creativity, of Discomfort, and of Idiocy
• Maintain magic levels when casting auras by using the “Recharging Meditation” action

Future plans for this mod include wing animations, special fairy pranks, and a new Enchanted energy need.

Expanded Mermaids

Sims 4 modders actually beat EA to the punch with mermaids, with this Enhanced Mermaids mod offering them back in February 2018 before they arrived in Island Living in June 2019.

To become a mermaid, you first have to buy the “The Queen of the Mermaids” statue in the building menu and place it on a lot. Your sim can then interact with it to “Remember the ‘Queen’s’ legend”.

Your sims will then either fail and find the story boring, or they will succeed causing them to pass out, glow, and wake up with scaled legs as a mermaid.

Mermaids have the ability to change the color of their scales, sing a “Siren’s song” that effects non-mermaid sims and increases the singing skill, and maintain a new hydration need that replaces hygiene.

They can fill it by swimming in a pool, having a bath/shower, going on a water slide, or really any water-based activity. If you don’t allow your mermaid sim to have water for too long, they will become dehydrated and can die.

Mermaids are also natural smooth talkers, and have a more whimsical speaking voice than normal sims to match their singing.

There is also another mod from a different modder that offers improved mermaids as well, called the Mermaid Lifestate 2.0 mod.

It comes with a Mermaid Mythology skill, a new Moonpool item, mermaid abilities like the Vitality Need or mermaid powers, and new sea monsters as seen above.

Zombies

Ever wish your quaint, little Sims 4 town could be overrun by zombies? Well this expansive mod allows for a fully-fledged zombie apocalypse to occur within your game.

There are three different ways to start a zombie apocalypse:

• Listen to an emergency police radio broadcast
• Use the radio to select ‘Infect All Sims in District’
• Purchase a ‘Zombification Virius’ and use it on a sim

If bitten by a zombie, your sim will get the Zombification Virus and get injured. There are a few items which can stop the infection, but if left untreated and bitten once more they will turn into one of the undead.

There are four steps to this process, injured, turning, turned, and zombified decomposing where their skin looks highly damaged. Ages teen to elder can become zombies, with kids planned for a future update.

Once a zombie, your sim will have a ‘Thirst For Flesh’ need, which is satisfied by biting other sims. If the ‘Thirst For Flesh’ need reaches zero, the zombie sim will collapse and then regenerate again.

If a normal sim is around a zombie sim, they will get a terrified moodlet. To kill a zombie they can use a handgun, or cure them with a special serum.

Zombie sims have purplish skin, decayed body parts, popped out veins, blank eyes, blood stains, and a new zombie walk. They also make loud zombie sounds as they walk around.

Death Angels

This mod offers an interesting new life state called Death Angels.

Death angels work for the Grim Reaper, and have lost all semblance of their emotions in the desire for power.

This mod pack includes new CAS accessories, buy mod objects, and new abilities for Death Angel sims.

When a sim dies, instead of the Grim Reaper appearing a death angel sim will instead. Death Angel sims have a new reaping skill which will improve and grant them new abilities.

To become a death angel you will need to purchase the Astral Altar of Death, and start the quest which will leave your sim emotionless in exchange for power.

Death angels will have a new motivation to keep control of, and only the Grim Reaper himself can cure a death angel.

Werewolves

This next mod offer werewolves with tons of detail and new interactions.

The four ways to turn into a werewolf with this mod include:

• Buy the “Special Treasure Map” and get your sim to inspect it and then “Explore the deep dark woods” to look for treasure. They will come back in the first stage of the werewolf process
• Create a toddler/child as a werewolf from the Create-A-Sim menu. (The mod warns to not select the werewolf trait past teen age)
• Have a sim who has been previously cured from lycanthropy, who can also access potions for the opposite affect
• A full leveled werewolf can bite a sim upon the player’s request

Once a sims begins the transformation, they will then pass into four stages before becoming a fully-fledged werewolf:

• “Recent Bite” buff that makes sims uncomfortable and puts slight scars on their body
• “So much pain!” buff doubles the uncomfortable feelings, and make deeper scars
• “Temporary Amnesia…” buff makes the sims dazed, heals the scars slightly but leaves the original bite mark
• And finally, the “Ferocious Behavior” buff makes your sim embarrassed and removes all scars except for the bite

After these steps, your sim will turn into a werewolf every night and their behavior and appearance will change dramatically. They will have a deeper voice, more defined muscles, a long muzzle, paws, and a tail.

Depending on their lycanthropy skill level, they can hunt, howl, maul sims, attract other werewolves to the lot, and more.

At level five, a werewolf can also call via the phone to get a cure delivered to them if they do not wish to be a werewolf anymore.

The best part about this mod is they don’t stay werewolves all the time, and every morning at 7:00AM your sim will turn back into normal and act as they usually do during the day.

Skeletons

This mod is one of the more simpler life state mods. It changes all sims into skeletons instead of their normal, fleshy forms.

Skeleton sims have a default emotion, and will have access to three new social interactions (two friendly and one flirty).

It doesn’t matter the age, or previous life state (spellcaster, a vampire, a plantsim, etc.) all sims can become a skeleton. A side note though, this mod will require the Jungle Adventure game pack to work properly.

Enhanced Aliens

This mod expands Aliens them even further by adding new abilities, interactions, buffs, a ‘Brain power’ need, and more.

Your alien sim is now be able to use mind-control regular sims, whether they want them to clean the house or repair everything on the lot.

Enhanced Aliens can also conquer a lot to start an alien invasion where some or all of the sims will be abducted to the maniacal laugh of your alien sim.

It is also worth mentioning that Sims 4 modder Nyx (or NeilSimming) who is responsible for the vast majority of mods on this list is currently remaking all of these mods from scratch.
