Getting the Oathkeeper Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind

As you’ve probably already noticed, Kingdom Hearts 3 received an update prior to the release of its ReMind DLC. In addition to prepping the game for the DLC’s release, this update also added a bonus free of charge: You can now get both the Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades free of charge, so long as you fulfill one requirement for each Keyblade.

For the Oathkeeper Keyblade, that means beating the game after finding every Lucky Emblem in the game. This means you need to complete the game again with a file where you’ve found every Emblem, even if it is an old save from your original playthrough.

If you haven’t found every Lucky Emblem in a playthrough yet, you can use our guide to find every one with minimal hassle.

Upon completing the requirement, you’ll gain the Proof of Promises item which you can exchange at any Moogle shop for the Oathkeeper Keyblade.

How Strong Is the Oathkeeper Keyblade?

As for whether getting the Oathkeeper Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3 is worth the hassle, the answer is a resounding yes.

The Oathkeeper has balanced stats with a slight lean toward magic, but still manages to out-perform the majority of the Keyblades you get through the base game.

Likewise, its Light Form ability greatly increases its damage potential with light-based attacks, and even allows you to dual-wield both the Oblivion and Oathkeeper keyblades in its final stage.

It’s a useful tool and a worthwhile easter egg for fans wrapped up in one package, and shouldn’t be passed up on if you have the choice.

In short, to get the Oathkeeper Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind

  1. Beat the game while finding every Emblem.

  2. Exchange the Proof of Promises item at any Moogle shop for the Oathkeeper Keyblade.

Hopefully this cleared up how to get the Oathkeeper Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3’s ReMind DLC. For more on the game, check out our full review of the base game or search for Twinfinite.
